I was looking for a place to tango, but I couldn’t find a partner you see. I found this pretty little red head named Tanya, I said a “would you dance with me"? I thought this girl was from my city. When she danced she looked so pretty! Now I’m dancing in Moscow. That’s where I’ve got to be, I’m dancing in Moscow. From Florida across the Sea. Yeah, Yeah Yeah, whew!
I found this pretty little place in Miami, where we can go Milonga every day. But getting our K-1 Visa, seems to be our only delay. I thought this girl was from my city. When she danced she looked so pretty! Now I’m dancing in Moscow. That’s where I’ve got to be,
I’m dancing in Moscow. From Florida across the Sea. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah whew!
We fell in love and now we want to get married, but in the paper work we’re getting so buried. Why is it so hard to live our life? I just want Tatiana as my wife! I thought this girl was from my city. When she danced she looked so pretty! Now I’m dancing in Moscow, that’s where I’ve got to be. I’m dancing in Moscow, from Florida across the Sea. I’m dancing in Moscow, just to be with my baby. I’m dancing in Moscow, now we’re praying to the Embassy. I’m dancing in Moscow, why won’t you let her come home with me? I’m dancing in Moscow, why won’t you just let us be? Yeah, Yeah, Yeah whew!
Interview with the artist Jerry Chiappetta, Jr. - About his song; DANCING IN MOSCOW
DANCING IN MOSCOW is a totally real true story about how I met my beautiful and totally wonderful wife Tatiana. After being single for quite a long time, in July of 2009 while watching the scene where Sean Connery and Kim Basinger tango danced together in an old James Bond movie called Never Say Never Again. I thought to myself "this is the ticket, I need to learn how to tango dance" and will then meet a woman with an interest in music and in the performing arts. I immediately got on the internet and started searching for a tango partner in Naples. One of the first photos I came across was of Tatiana and she instantly caught my eye! Her photo was linked to her FaceBook page so I reached out, friended her, and asked her if she would be my partner for tango lessons. Tatiana said to me later that she first checked my profile (in full detail) very carefully before saying "yes” accepting my friendship. She said that she thought – “he seems like an interesting and versatile person!” We continued to email each other daily and then hourly. I later discovered that the Tango Event (with lessons) that Tatiana was planning to attend was in Naples Italy and not in Naples Florida! And that she was planning to travel to Naples Italy from her home in Moscow Russia. We each found this to be quite funny, but still continued to communicate throughout each and every day. After hundreds of emails using google translate, we finally started doing video chat. However, Tatiana did not speak a word of English and I did not speak a word of Russian. We basically gave each other language lessons so that we could understand each other in video chats. In May of 2010 (about a year after our first correspondence) I went to Moscow Russia to meet Tatiana and we finally had our long- awaited tango dance together and fell in love even more. We got married in March of 2011 here in the USA after a long K-1 Visa process and my numerous trips to Moscow Russia. We have been happily married for over seven years now and tango dance very often at this pretty little place in Miami, throughout the USA, and in beautiful Moscow Russia as well. Tatiana is the bass player for our band MAINFRAME, so when we are not on stage performing you can find us on the tango dance floor in a close embrace dancing the night away.
